Winter Concert Features Haydn Mass Dec. 2

The Music Department will present its Annual Winter Concert featuring Mass in Time of War by Franz Joseph Haydn at 7:30 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 2, in Dana Auditorium.
Performers will include soprano Allison Faulkner ’11, mezzo-soprano Melanie Pringle ’09, tenor Kyle Berkeley and baritone Jonathan Shine ’12.
The work was composed in 1796 as Austrian troops were battling the French in Italy and Germany, and Austria, fearing invasion, increasingly mobilized for war. It was performed for the first time Dec. 26 of that year.
