Nominations Open for Board of Visitors Advising Award

Nominations are being accepted for the second annual Board of Visitors Award for Excellence in Academic Advising.
Nominations must be submitted by 5 p.m. Friday, March 15, in the Academic Dean’s Office, King 101, or by e-mail to Steve Shapiro. The nomination form is available online.
The Board of Visitors Award for Excellence in Academic Advising recognizes sustained excellence and extraordinary commitment to student support and guidance. The award will be presented at the annual Spring Awards Ceremony on April 17.
Criteria for this award include: (1) sustained excellence in academic advising as shown by student academic advisor evaluations and other evidence, (2) demonstrated commitment to the support of students and alums, and (3) service as an informal advisor to students and alums.
Eligibility Guidelines: All full-time faculty members are eligible to receive this award. Nominations: Nominations may be received from any member of the Guilford College community — students, faculty, staff, alumni/alumnae, trustees, parents and visitors — that address each of the selection criteria. Candidates should be nominated based on meritorious service that is beyond the duties normally assigned to academic advisors.
