Men’s Basketball Opens Season Nov. 16

The men’s basketball team, ranked fourth in the conference, tips off its season at 8 p.m. Friday, Nov. 16, against Southern Virginia University.
The home contest is part of the Quakers’ Daly Seven Hotels Invitational, which includes William Peace University and Johnson & Wales (N.C.) University.
Tom Palombo starts his 10th season as head coach with with two starters among nine letter winners back from the team that placed fifth at last year’s ODAC Tournament.
Josh Pittman ’13, a two-time First Team All-ODAC selection, averaged a team-high 13.5 points per contest a year ago. He starts his senior year as the school’s 28th leading scorer with 1,047 career points.
The Quakers also welcome back Carson Sullivan ’13, who averaged 8.8 points, 4.7 rebounds and 2.5 assists per game as a starting guard last season, and center Will Freeman ’15, who earned the league’s 2011-12 Rookie of the Year Award after averaging 9.3 points and 4.1 rebounds per contest in 26 appearances.
